In this article, we’ll learn how to restore a single file from a backup image.
Restore a single file from a File image
Please follow the steps to do:
Step 1. Click Restore on the left side of AOMEI Backupper Home page then you can restore via Select Task or Select Image File.
For select task to restore, please find and choose the File Backup task then click Next to switch to the Image Information page.
For select Image to restore, please find the file image of the task then choose it then click Open to switch to the Image Information page.
Step2. On the image Information page, please click the right-arrow icon to unfold the file directory in turn, next, you’ll see all these files that in the file image.
Step3. Then you can tick the item you’d like to restore, if you’d like to restore a single folder from the file image, please tick the folder then click Next button.
If you’d like to restore a single file from the file image, please tick the file on the right-side then click the Next button.
Step4. On the File Restore page, you can choose whether to “Restore to original location” or “Restore to a new location“. click Start Restore to execute this task.

Restore a single file from Disk/System/Partition image
For disk/system/partition image, if you’d like to restore a file from it without restoring the entire image file, you may mount the image as an virtual disk via Explore Image then you can access it via Windows Explorer
Next, you can copy a specific file from the virtual disk then paste it to another location.
You can click Tools-> Explore Image to launch this feature.
